Ward Fall Fest; Spook Alley 2014

Dear family,

Just wanted to share some pictures of our spook alley, our best to date.  It seemed easier to post the pictures here rather than try to send them via email.  Tim was the mad scientist and we had a lot of fun putting his lab together.  The best was the "head in the jar."  If you look at the picture of the lab (brick room) you should notice a blue, 3-gallon water bottle.  We cut out the handle and the bottom and taped it to a  piece of cardboard similarly cut.  Samuel Daynes sat on a lazy-Susan under the table with his head in the jar, illuminated underneath by a glow stick. He would slowly spin and talk with people or with Tim.  I think the two of them had quite a good time of it.

The first pictures show how the room (yes, it is just one room) looked before we put up our walls and created a maze for people to walk thru.  The floor candelabras and the two fully articulated skeletons were borrowed from the Niepraschk's.  Everything else, including wall coverings, belongs to us.  As you walked through the maze you would encounter, in order, the mad scientist & "Head" (Tim with Samuel Daynes), a scarecrow (Carter Niepraschk), the Phantom-ess of the Opera (Kelsi Niepraschk), a pirate (Kaden Niepraschk) and his fox-pirate mutant minion (Seth Salen), a skeleton (Ben Daynes), a mummy (Thomas Meyerkorth) and a ghost (Amelia Nelson).  The "science experiments" are various objects suspended in lime and/or peach jello. We put them on a platform so light could shine up through them. Tasty!
